One of the larger, most established communities in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Jasper is a welcoming mountain city known for its luxury cabins and cottages. Residents make the move to Jasper for both its gorgeous properties (which offer tranquil, forest living) and its ample amenities just a short drive away. Dubbed “The First Mountain City”, Jasper draws in both year-round residents and vacationers.
When it comes to real estate, property is quite in-demand, with the majority being single-family homes. Buyers will also find a number of listings for vacant land for sale, which is a great investment opportunity—whether this be for your dream home or your business.
Architecturally, Jasper encompasses a wide range of home styles. Whilst cabins (log cabins or contemporary cabins) are very popular, the city prominently features cottages styles as well. Craftsman and Ranch style homes are particularly popular in Jasper, regardless of construction date. The city has seen steady population growth over the years, so new construction homes are also on the market or currently in development. New construction properties are typically built in Craftsman or Traditional styles—especially in the case of new townhome developments—but there is more leeway with design with luxury homes.
Price point ranges in Jasper. New construction homes start around the mid-$500,000s, but can go steadily upwards (especially with added customization). On the lower end, you can still find beautiful forest properties, although these are generally smaller-sized bungalows. Colonial farmhouses and quaint cottages are also some of the lower-priced options, and there are sometimes rare chances of finding a cabin home at a lower price point. Grandview at Gateway is a 55+ community in Jasper, and offers gorgeous Craftsman homes at affordable rates.
Luxury homes in Jasper are a mixture of designs and styles, as well. However, one of the premier features of a luxury property are generous square footage, ample acreage, and gorgeous natural landscapes.
