Georgia 24 Hour Wine Country Tour

10am-12pm: Start in Downtown Dahlonega and browse the many gift shops on the town square.

12pm-1pm: Eat a lite lunch at the Crimson Moon Cafe.  Don't eat too much, the wine tasting will not be as pleasurable.

1pm-5pm: Drive to the wineries just outside Dahlonega and do wine tasting:

• Montaluce Vineyards
• Three Sisters Winery
• Wolf Mountain Vineyards
• Blackstock Vineyards

6pm: Check-in at the Top of the Square Bed & Breakfast and Inn on the Dahlonega Square for a night's stay.

6:45pm: Have dinner at The Smith House, the legendary southern food establishment. They close at 7:30pm and 7pm on Sundays, so make sure you get there on time.

After dinner take a walk around the square and have a nightcap at Shenanigan's, which is a cozy Irish pub a block off the square.  Then walk back to the Inn for a good night's rest with an awesome breakfast awaiting in the morning.

You may not consider Georgia as a serious wine producing state, but hopefully a wine tasting visit will change that perception. The North Georgia Mountains region is ideal for growing grapes.  The terrain is much like Italy's Piedmont region, which produces some of the finest wines in the world. Georgia is gaining a reputation as a prominent wine producer.
